Welcome to The Crafty Cruiser! I’m Kim, a retired graphic designer & web designer, who loves to sew, knit, crochet and craft with my hands. I started sewing handmade bags and accessories while living aboard a sailboat and cruising the East coast US and Bahamas. With little room to store the many bags I made, I decided to start selling on Etsy. Eventually, we sold the boat and bought an RV to cruise on. My only requirement on this new RV was my own dedicated sewing area which I now happily have. I love being able to source fabrics locally and gather inspiration as we travel the U.S. Sewing bags enables me to use my graphic artist background to select colors, fabrics and textures to craft beautiful, durable and functional bags.

How are you able to sew on an RV?
We converted bunk beds that weren’t being used into my very own sewing nook. I now have my very own dedicated space for my beloved Juki TL18 sewing machine and all my tools, fabric and materials.
How do you store your finished handmade items?
I store all my finished items in individual plastic bags. The structured bags get stuffed with paper to help them hold their shape and I have a dedicated spot on the RV to store them until sold.
How do you determine your shipping rates?
Since we usually only travel 1-2 months a year, we’re typically in one place the rest of the time. Therefore, I always update my shipping location to get the most accurate cost for shipping to you.
